Being sober in a group of intoxicated people is also possible, but not desirable. My wife can go on a binge, swearing she is not drunk but barely able to slur the words out.
I used to cut her some slack on this (long story) but these situations are more frequent. She is hostile and very, very repetitive, disrespectful and never ever wrong. Enough said.
So leaving is a difficult option.
Very uncomfortable.
