But I believe you are writing the truth.
I’ve never experienced anything like what you described and hope I never do.
Strangely, it made me think of the leg as a vital component of our psyche, a thought or belief which becomes a support and means of locomotion.
Once this thought becomes detached from our thinking, the process (old self) becomes deceased.
I know it’s a poor analogy because we can be “reborn” after disposing of and becoming detached to an old habit or belief or way of thinking.
In the case of a violently rent limb, not so.
