It’s worth wondering about why God allowed his own son to suffer the crucifixion. Why Peter was allowed, against his own protests, to deny Christ? Most, if not all Christians should know the answer to this.
If a parent allows their child to fall down when they are learning to walk, are they also not allowing suffering to take place? There is little comparison to learning to walk and a crucifixion but is it not plausible to consider that the existence of suffering is to help us understand that if all of life were “good”, there would be no anticipation of a future, for everything would always remain the same.
Ecclesiastes examines this existential question.
