Oh boy, I see a few kinks in your approach. While what you say might make sense, I've found that happiness isn't something you go looking for. Besides, everyone has a different idea of happiness.

Peacefulness, equanimity, whatever doesn't necessarily define happiness either, although you cannot be peaceful and angry at the same time.

In my case, I find being grateful has an enormous influence on how happy I am.

Over the years I've tried to discover the "why" and "how" you can be grateful during difficult situations.
