The Last Resort. One of my favourites too.
We all have our own personal “Last Resorts” too, tucked away in some seldom used but easily accessed corner of our memory.
Mine is Cape Blomidon, NS, which links me to Anne and sailing on the Northumberland Strait. (There is a longer thought process here, no need for a mountain of details).
From Blomidon, you can see across the Minas Basin to Parrsboro where the Fundy tides are squeezed at the narrows.
It’s less than three miles across the water in a straight line, but eighteen miles by road.
This was like my relationship with Anne - - so near, and yet so far.
But the time together was pure magic.
